Texas, Louisiana get soaked from Tropical Storm Nicholas

Tropical Cyclone Nicholas formed in the Gulf of Mexico Sunday afternoon. It is the 14th system this year, much earlier than the normal average number of storms reached by mid-November

Nicholas hugged the Texas coastline near Brownsville before making landfall as a hurricane around 12:30 a.m. along the middle Texas coast.

There is an ongoing flood concern in Houston and Louisiana with the potential for 10 to 20 inches of rain once the storm slows over the two states for the next 24-48 hours.
